ISN'T THE FIRST DAY OF THE NEW YEAR JUST LIKE THE LAST DAY OF THE OLD ONE?

New Years's resolution always seem to hold over till the next day, everyone been to hungover, too tired, or just unable to join a gym when nothing is open, so here for the last time is the current form of the blog in which I just straight out talk about the matches as predictions.
Don't worry all the changes are going to be for the best, more consistent posting, more betting information and best of all still free.

ON WITH THE SHOW

TODAY'S FIVE STAR BETS
1: PREMIER LEAGUE: BLACKBURN NOT TO LOSE AT WIGAN: 3.1 Blackburn win, 3.4 the draw, double result stake: A rare Premiership value bet here, Blackburn sit 14th, while Wigan sit 16th, but both teams are heading in opposite directions. Wigan are heading for a long relegation struggle while Blackburn should be capable of pushing onto the top ten. I've seen a reasonable bit of both two teams in the last few weeks and Blackburn have much more about them. There recent performances have been impressive home wins over Liverpool and Boro, a not as bad as the scoreline suggest 6-2 award efeat to Arsenal and an away win at reading. Nonda and McCarthy know where the back of the ent is and are a menace up front and their pace should cause a slow Wigan backline problems. Across the middle is the key and there is no comparison in Tugay Blackburn have a tough of class that Wigan certainly don't have. The Wigan midfield is filled with workhorses, and Savage will be key to making sure Blackbrun don't get over run but I think he and Tugay are a much superior partnership. The widemen of Gamst and Bentley look capable of causing a Wigan defence numerous problems, last two times I've saw Wigan they have been exposed in the fullback position, Baines I think is a good fullback, but the other side is weak and the cover for Baines from midfield seems slow in coming leaving him exposed. I fully expect Blackburn to be capable of getting amongst the goals and with the tightening up in defence recently I think Blackburn look good value to at worst not to lose.

2: BLACKPOOL AWAY AT CHESTERFIELD 2.6: Blackpool are in great from right now, seven games on the trot unbeaten, including winning the last four games. Last time out they were excellent against Doncaster who are a very good side themselves, confidence is high, goals are flying and they look great value at 2.6 here. There opponents Chesterfield have a good home record, but recent form is really off, with no win in four, including losing to hopeless Brentford and drawing at home to Hudersfield. The goal threat of Blackpool should be much to much for a side struggling to put the ball into the net. Away win highly advised.

3:HARTLEPOOL AWAY TO MANSFIELD: 2.55: Although Mansfield have a new manager in place in Billy Dearden and have recently beat Pool's local rivals Darlington 2-0, the 2.55 here is a real steal. Hartlepool are flying right now and with eight straight league wins I can't see where the bookies are going with this one, maybe a few too much alcohol in the brains over christmas and new year for them.

4: BRISTOL ROVERS AT HOME TO TORQUAY 1.7: It's not that Bristol Rovers are great, although credible draws at Wallsall and Hereford and are 4-0 home win over Accrington is enocuraging recent form. It is more the mess that is going at Torquay they have a czech manager who seems a nice guy and has the team playing pretty football but they are toothless and lost at home to Macclesfield last time. Confidence is low, fan unrest high, tension between fans and chairman, coaching staff memebers speaking out about the changes, the whole thing is highly similar to that of Oxford under another ex world cup player, Diaz and we saw how that turned out. The 1.7 on offer seems great value in those circumstances.

5: Dundee United at home to Falkirk: 2.15: The expekt price is very nice value, Dundee United have very good home form and beat Aberdeen last time out who are no mugs, but most crucially Falkirk have lost key striker Anthony Stokes this morning who has returned to Arsenal after a highly successful loan spell. The 2.15 suddenly seems huge and get on it while you can.

Goodluck to everyone and be sure to check back tommorrow for a whole lot more.
